Mexikanischer Reis – Arroz Rojo - Abuelitas tienda Mexicana uG

Zutaten:

  • 1 Tasse Reis
  • 2 Esslöffel Pflanzenöl
  • 1 kleine Zwiebel, gewürfelt
  • 2 Tomaten, püriert
  • 1 Teelöffel Knoblauchpulver
  • 1 Teelöffel Kreuzkümmel
  • 2 Tassen Gemüsebrühe
  • Salz und Pfeffer nach Geschmack
  • Frischer Koriander (optional)

Zubereitung:

  1. Den Reis gründlich waschen und abtropfen lassen.
  2. In einem großen Topf das Öl erhitzen und die Zwiebel darin anbraten, bis sie weich ist.
  3. Den Reis hinzufügen und unter ständigem Rühren für etwa 2-3 Minuten anbraten, bis der Reis leicht goldbraun wird.
  4. Das Tomatenpüree, Knoblauchpulver und Kreuzkümmel hinzufügen und gut vermengen.
  5. Die Brühe hinzufügen, mit Salz und Pfeffer abschmecken und zum Kochen bringen.
  6. Den Deckel auf den Topf setzen, die Hitze reduzieren und den Reis 15-20 Minuten köcheln lassen, bis er weich ist und das Wasser vollständig aufgesogen wurde.
  7. Den Reis mit frischem Koriander garnieren und als Beilage zu Tacos oder anderen Gerichten servieren.

Tipp: Für einen intensiveren Geschmack kannst du auch etwas Chili oder Paprika hinzufügen.
